Bizcubation brings new and innovative business ideas to life. Bizcubation- a fancy word for Business Incubation- was established in 2019 as Mzuzu E-Hub’s flagship program supporting youth-led emerging enterprises. Bizcubation portfolio enterprises benefit from determining the best business model and market strategy to commercialize their idea and measure social impact, developing investor proposals for financing and establishing a significant contact network. A cohort is for 6 months Program duration: 6 months and sector agnostic
Bizcubation has graduated 541 emerging entrepreneurs split in 11 cohorts with 51.6% female participation since its inception and currently has the following projects:
- Kukolola Project: The Kukolola Project is a pilot project under the MUZI Ecosystem, stemming from the “More Income and Employment in Rural Areas – MIERA II” project, implemented by GIZ in Malawi. The project is implemented in Rumphi District up to November, 2024
- Green Jobs for Adolescents and Youth – GJ4AY: This is a three-year initiative, funded by Save the Children Italy, building upon the success of previous Save the Children projects namely, “Malawi Youth Economic Empowerment Project” and the “Youth Transition from Poverty to Formal TEVET and Employment Project” in Ntcheu and Mzimba.
- Youth Innovative and Women in Biz: Women in Biz and Youth Innovation Challenge stem from the main Bizcubation program with youth and women between the ages of 18 to 40 participating in the program and an opportunity for seed capital funding utilizing the “pitch-your-business” model.
- Digital Skills for Business – DS4Biz: Mzuzu E-Hub fosters the growth of local businesses through the DS4Biz Challenge, specifically targeting alumni of the Digital Skills for All training under the Digital Malawi Project. This initiative aims to empower graduates with viable business ideas or existing businesses with high growth potential to create job opportunities.
