Start Up Connect Week
The “MalawiUP! Startup Connect Week” took place from the 13th-16th December 2022 in Lilongwe hosted by Mzuzu E-Hub in partnership with Make-IT in Africa, a project implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development. The event series included an ecosystem engagement event by the Mzuzu E-Hub titled “hub-COLLAB” in collaboration with Make- IT in Africa. Make-IT in Africa was launched as a project in Malawi by representatives from Namibia and Botswana. The event was supported by local ecosystem players including mHub (Clicks and Startups Cocktail), Synergy and Nxt Gen Labs (Tech IT Out), and Status Tech Hub (Hack the Gap) This event marks the starting point for the implementation of the project in Malawi – after the project has already successfully strengthened innovation ecosystems in Western and Eastern Africa.
MalawiUP! Startup Connect Week endeavors brought together local and national innovation enablers and digital visionaries in Malawi to stimulate closer collaboration to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the country.
